If you have lymphedema, you know how important it is to boost circulation through movement and any other means available. If you’ve been reading this blog, you are probably aware that I have minimized my lower leg lymphedema naturally through extensive trial and error. It’s well-controlled and now barely noticeable, but it’s still there and periodically flares up and swells more. After recent flare-ups, I have been on the lookout for other ways to increase circulation in my lower legs. In this blog, I’ll provide a YogaToes review, which is a product that I find to help a bit and definitely boost lower leg circulation.
Try and Try Again
I previously had tried a promising gadget called Revitive. The idea was great….the machine sends electrical impulses through your feet while moving them to increase your circulation. While I had high hopes, it did nothing for my swelling (although it did get rid of my cold feet, which is great). However, a few people commented that it did help them with lymphedema, which is excellent news, so it definitely might be worth a try.
YogaToes Review
Fortunately, I found something that is far cheaper and easier to use.
And it helps with foot pain, too, if that is a concern for you. I walk and hike a significant amount, so my feet get sore. In fact, very sore! I am no spring chicken (56, yikes!), but I was waking up to painful feet every morning. So sore that I would hobble around for the first ten minutes like I was 100 years old.
I tried some foot exercises but they didn’t help much, and I would forget to do them.
YogaToes to the Rescue?
Then I stumbled across a product called YogaToes. It’s quite simple; it’s just a molded rubbery material that you put on that stretches your toes. I looked on Amazon for reviews and noticed that many people were getting pain relief by using these. So I took the chance and ordered them, just for the pain.
Extreme Toe Stretching!
When they showed up, I unpackaged them and popped them on. Well, I should choose another verb because it was not that easy. These things are serious about stretching your toes! They say to start with a few minutes at a time. They aren’t kidding.
You have to wrestle your toes on these, but once you do, a fantastic thing happens: you can feel the blood flowing to your toes. I found this amazing as someone with cold feet, low blood pressure, and lymphatic issues.
What impressed me most was some photography that captured the increased blood flow from similar toe stretching products.
Plus, these are so easy to incorporate into your daily routine. I just pop them on when I’m working whenever I can remember.
And the result, much less foot pain, which is a big deal. But I was happily surprised to find that it seems to help the swelling too, probably because of the increased circulation. I believe anything that improves circulation will help keep our lymphatic-impaired limbs healthier.
Start Slow!
One word of warning…these are not comfortable at first. Or they weren’t for me, and most reviews report similar experiences. Our feet are used to being squished into shoes, so this is a different feeling.
The first time, two minutes was enough. I still only wear them as long as possible, but it gets much easier when you use them daily. The stretch is intense, to say the least.
There are also “beginner” ones that are a bit kinder and gentler on your feet, called Gems.
Habit Creation Level – Easy!
How often do you need to wear these for results? According to the manufacturer, you should start with 15 minutes a day then progress to up to an hour.
This is not hard to incorporate into our day, fortunately:
- Wear while watching television
- If you work at a desk or on a computer, wear while working
- If you need to elevate your legs, try them then
For me, the key is to keep them next to where I’ll be sitting so it’s easy to remember.
Bottom Line on My YogaToes Review
This YogaToes review was easy to write since it is one of the easiest things to do for lymphedema. It’s also low cost.
I use them most days—not every day, but I still get significant benefits. It has minimized my foot pain and also seems to slow down the swelling in my legs. And I can feel the circulation….in fact, I took them off over an hour ago, and my toes are still tingling.
My approach with lymphedema has been to try everything. This was easy to add to that list, and I am happy to report it’s a keeper.

Thank you very much for this review, I will try it too! Do you use a specific brand?
Hi Larissa,
I think my comments plug in wasn’t working as I didn’t see your comments, so just responded. Sorry for the delay!
… also: Do you still use the chinese herbs? My biggest goal would be to be able to live without compression stockings 🙁
Hi Larissa,
Sorry, I didn’t see your comments come in. Yes, I use those Yogatoes.com ones which seem to work well, but I’m sure other brands work too, I assume.
And to answer your question, yes I still use chinese herbs, but only when needed, once or twice a year for a few weeks at a time. Thankfully that works, however, I have had more swelling since the second covid vaccine, which has been concerning. But it is starting to settle down a bit again. Frustrating but I’m sure getting Covid would have been alot worse.
But yes it is working for me….no compression stockings required, only wear them when I get on a plane….just to be safe.
Yes please try some of these strategies…fingers crossed they work for you too!
Dear Jeanne
Thank you very much for your reply, I will try the herbs and maybe the yogatoes 🙂
Hi Jeanne:
Can you suggest the chinese herbs? I would appreciate that as I would like to try anything that can help my swelling!
Thank you for testing these things and reviewing. Was wondering if you have ever tried these air compression leg massagers? I’m considering getting one to try as I’ll try anything these days. My leg flare ups are getting me down.
Hi Alison,
You’re very welcome! No unfortunately I have not. Right now I’m focusing on the yogatoes (which I notice problems when I stop using), rebounding etc. The next thing I am planning to add is red LED light therapy…sounds extremely promising. I am still evaluating those so will post on that after I find the right one to buy, buy it and then give it a test. If you try those please do let us know. Thanks again for reading and commenting!
